Black tarmacadam driveway with natural Indian Stone sets, Padiham.

This customer wanted to create extra space for parking and a maintenance free driveway. In order to achieve this we excavated the front garden area to create the extra space required.

We removed all the bushes surrounding the existing driveway and excavated the soil down to a solid foundation. We then removed the existing driveway and dug down to a solid foundation. We then installed type 1 Mot and machine rolled to form a smooth foundation.

The customer wanted to create an extra special border to go around the perimeter of the driveway. We installed two different size sets of indian stone and bedded them on ready mix concrete and pointed using floor point. They also wanted something a little different for their front step so we constructed a half moon step using natural stone and indian stone flags.

For the maintenance free driveway the customer decided to go with black tarmac as there’s significantly less maintenance when compared with a block paved drive. We installed a 20mm base coat and machine rolled to from a compact finish. Lastly, we installed a 6mm HRT wearing course and machine rolled this to a compact and smooth finish.
